Afghanistan: 23 militants killed in last 24 hrs

Kabul [Afghanistan], Mar 31 (ANI): At least 23 militants, including two Islamic State (IS)militants, were killed in operations by Afghan security forces in the last 24 hours, according to Afghanistan's defence ministry.

Afghanistan: 23 militants killed in last 24 hrs

Kabul [Afghanistan], Mar 31 (ANI): At least 23 militants, including two Islamic State (IS)militants, were killed in operations by Afghan security forces in the last 24 hours, according to Afghanistan's defence ministry.

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) said in a statement that the operations were conducted in Ghazni, Farah, Badghis, Baghlan, Takhar, Badakhshan, and Helmand provinces, while adding that 23 other militants were also injured.

During the operations, a local Taliban commander named Omari was also injured, the MoD was quoted by TOLOnews as saying.

Further, the statement said that eight clearance operations, 69 special operations, five airstrikes and 100 supportive air operations were conducted. Also, vehicles and weapons belonging to the militants were destroyed. (ANI)
