80 political prisoners released in Sudan

Bangladesh's 13th Parliament unanimously elected veteran BNP leader Hafizuddin Ahmed as Speaker and Barrister Kayser Kamal as Deputy Speaker. Following the BNP's recent election victory, the two leaders were sworn in by President Shahabuddin in a ceremony attended by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, marking the new legislative journey.

According to the Indian Embassy in Beirut, the first batch of 177 Indian nationals was repatriated to New Delhi on a charter flight arranged by their employer on Wednesday. The group was seen off at Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport by India's Ambassador to Lebanon, Noor Rahman Sheikh.

This diesel will enter Bangladesh via the Parbatipur border. The chairman of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC), Muhammad Rezanur Rahman, informed this.

Iran's Supreme Leader's representative, Abdul Majid Hakim Elahi, stated that Iran is defending its independence against US and "Zionist" aggression. He emphasised that regional stability should rely on internal cooperation rather than foreign guarantees, while affirming that 3,000-year-old civilisational ties will ensure the future of India-Iran relations.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb warned of a "detachment" of the United States from the global West, noting it increasingly acts without consultation. Citing conflicts in West Asia, Ukraine, and Sudan, he called for a "new covenant" because the current cost of uncoordinated multipolarity is "too high."

During the discussion, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations, including economic engagements, based on mutual respect and shared interests.

The representative also called for the release of all religious prisoners of conscience, including Christian mother Shagufta Kiran in Pakistan.

As cited in BNM's post, an important meeting was convened to present the report, presided over by Chapter President Muheem Abdul Rahim Baloch.

In an interview with ANI, Ilahi said, "Actually, our Supreme Leader wasn't just an ordinary leader. He was our father. He was our spiritual leader. He was our Marja in our religion. Marja means authentic, which we rely on him.

Ilahi, in a conversation with ANI, said that Iran had said several times that they were not trying to procure nuclear weapons, as it is not permitted as per their religious scriptures.
