Yuzvendra Chahal's six-fer guides India to T20 series win against England
Bengaluru [India], Feb.1 (ANI): Yuzvendra Chahal scalped a six-wicket haul as India ended their 11-match long series against England on a high note by clinching a huge 75-run victory against them in the third and final T20 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Wednesday. With the win, India clinched the three-match T20 series 2-1. Put in to bat first, India made a poor start to their innings, losing opener and skipper Virat Kohli cheaply for two runs. KL Rahul struck an 18-ball 22 runs, including two boundaries and a six, before he fell prey to Ben Stokes' delivery. Subsequently, first drop Suresh Raina (63) and former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (56) steadied the side's innings as they not only struck quick-fire half centuries, but also shared a crucial 55-run stand for third wicket to help India post a score of 202-6. It was also Dhoni's maiden T20 century in 76 matches he played so far. Yuvraj Singh also contributed significant 27 runs in his side's innings. In reply, England fell like a pack of cards, losing eight wickets for mere eight runs. The visitors were eventually bundled out for 127 runs , despite some brilliant efforts by Joe Root (42) and skipper Eoin Morgan (40), who both shared a 64-run partnership for the third wicket. Jason Roy was also notable contributor for the visitors for his 23-ball 34 runs. For India, Yuzvendra was the pick of the bowlers for his sparkling figures of six for 25.He was declared `Man of the Match` as well as `Man of the series`. While Jasprit Bumrah also scalped three wickets in his quota of 2.3 overs, Amit Mishra also chipped in with a wicket. Earlier, India clinched the five-match Test series 4-1 before sealing a three-match ODI series whitewash 2-1 against England. (ANI)
