Vidabhra to host India vs England U-19 'Test' matches post TNCA's refusal
New Delhi [India], Jan. 20 (ANI): Vidarbha will host two U-19 'Test' matches between India and England scheduled for February after the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) refused to hold them in Chennai. The two four-day matches, scheduled from February 13-16 and February 21-24, part of the seven-match tour which also includes five ODIs in Mumbai before the Tests, will now be played at the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) Stadium in Nagpur. "At the outset we thank you for allotting the India - England Under 19 matches at Chennai between 13th and 16th February and 21st to 24th February 2017. However, we regret to inform you that we are unable to host the matches at Chennai due to various domestic programs scheduled during the period," the TNCA letter had reportedly said earlier this month to the BCCI. The TNCA had later on insisted that it had nothing to do with the Supreme Court verdict of January 2 on Justice (Retd) Lodha Committee reforms. On January 2, the apex court had removed BCCI president Anurag Thakur and secretary Ajay Shirke from their respective posts for their failure to bring transparency and accountability to the Indian cricket board and their non-compliance of the court's July 18, 2016 order.
