Three members to represent BCCI at ICC meet after SC refuses plea
New Delhi [India], Feb. 1 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Wednesday, while hearing the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) plea, refused to modify its earlier order on sending three people to represent the cricket board in the crucial ICC meeting commencing from February 2 in Dubai. The apex court had authorised IDFC manager Vikram Limaye, BCCI treasurer Anirudh Chaudhary and joint secretary Amitabh Choudhary, to represent the cricket board in the meeting. Earlier, BCCI CEO Rahul Johri filed a plea in the apex court, stating that only one person is allowed at the meeting in Dubai. However, the apex court bench headed by Justice Dipak Misra refused to modify its order after hearing the plea. The top court on Monday had appointed a four-member committee to oversee the daily operations of the BCCI. The committee includes historian Ramachandra Guha, Vikram Limaye, Diana Edulji, former India women's Test cricketer, and will be headed by Vinod Rai, former Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG). The Justice R M Lodha panel and Amicus Curiae Gopal Subramaniam had informed the court that a request has been made to ICC chairman Shashank Manohar that all the three representatives be accommodated in the meeting.
