There should be no ties with Pak until cross border terrorism is over: Gautam Gambhir
Kolkata(West Bengal),[India] Oct. 18(ANI): Indian opener Gautam Gambhir has endorsed that India should not have any ties with Pakistan until cross-border terrorism stops, adding that he feels there is a need to back soldiers who sacrifice their lives for the nation. "I endorse completely that there should not be any ties with Pakistan till the time cross border terrorism is not over," he said. "I think situation is worse now, and I feel that whatever happens, most important is the lives of soldiers and lives of the people living in this country, because that is the most important thing. And as I said till cross border terrorism is not over, there should not be any ties, forget about cricket and any other ties with Pakistan," he added. Gambhir also advocated that there should be no cricketing ties with the neighbours, and no Bollywood connection whatsoever. Echoing similar sentiment,BCCI president Anurag Thakur had last month said there was no question of playing cricket with the arch-rivals. The last time Pakistan visited India for a one-on-one series was back in 2012-13. Since then, the arch-rivals have met in only ICC events - Champions Trophy (2013), World Cup (2015) and World T20 (2016).(ANI)
