Johannesburg [South Africa], Sept.16 (ANI): 19-year-old teenager Haseeb Hameed has been named in a 17-man England squad for next month's two-match Test series against Bangladesh.

Teenage opener Haseeb Hameed earns call up in England Test squad
Johannesburg [South Africa], Sept.16 (ANI): 19-year-old teenager Haseeb Hameed has been named in a 17-man England squad for next month's two-match Test series against Bangladesh. The Lancashire teenage opener received the nod after a successful season for the Red Rose county and in the wake of current England opener Alex Hales' decision to pull out of the tour due to security concerns. Meanwhile, off-spinner Gareth Batty, who made his last Test appearance in 2005, has been recalled to face the Asian nation, along with uncapped pair of Zafar Ansari and Ben Duckett. In contrast, Joe Root, who has been retained in the Test squad, has been rested for the three-match ODI series, beginning from October 7. The England Test and ODI squad are as follows: England Test squad: Alastair Cook, Moeen Ali, James Anderson ,Zafar Ansari , Jonny Bairstow , Gary Ballance , Gareth Batty,Stuart Broad, Jos Buttler, Ben Duckett ,Steven Finn, Haseeb Hameed, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood. England ODI squad : Jos Buttler, Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow, Jake Ball, Sam Billings, Liam Dawson, Ben Duckett, Liam Plunkett, Adil Rashid, Jason Roy, Ben Stokes, James Vince , David Willey , Chris Woakes , Mark Wood.
