Talat Ali tipped for Pakistan manager role
Karachi [Pakistan], Feb.22 (ANI): If reports are to be believed, former Test batsman Talat Ali could be the next manager of the Pakistan team which will tour West Indies next month. In case Talat gets selected, it will be third managerial change for the Pakistan team in last five months, the Dawn reported. The 66-year-old will replace former Test skipper Wasim Bari, who was relieved from the duties after serving the team during last three series, which were against the West Indies, New Zealand and Australia. Talat, who played 10 Tests in the 1970s as opening batsman and gathered 370 runs at 23.12, had previously served as the national team manager from 2006 to 2008 when Dr Nasim Ashraf was the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman. Pakistan are slated to play two Twenty20 internationals, three Tests and as many ODIs against West Indies beginning March 31 at Queen's Park Oval.(ANI)
