`Struggling` Aaron Finch admits of being under pressure
Melbourne [Australia], Dec. 22 (ANI): Australia's explosive opening batsman Aaron Finch, who was out of form in recently concluded Chappell-Hadlee series against New Zealand, has admitted that his place in the ODI side is under threat. Finch failed miserably in the 3-0 whitewash against the Black Caps and scored a duck, 19 and three in the three matches. He had also struggled in the tours of South Africa and Sri Lanka where he averaged a career-low 28.47 in ODIs in 2016. "You leave it up in the air when you don't perform as well as you would have liked," Finch was quoted as saying by news.com.au. "I was short on runs. It was disappointing, and when you open the door, there's a lot of good players getting around the country which makes it hard to keep them out." "I'm very confident that if I get another opportunity, if I keep my spot, I'll do very well. If not, time to make some runs and get back in," he added. The 30-year-old will look to find form in the Big Bash Twenty20 league. However, he feels there's no certainty over his selection for the ODI series against Pakistan. "I'm always excited coming into the Big Bash. It gives you a chance to just play your natural game and take on the game and see where you go," he said. Australia will play a five-match ODI series against Pakistan beginning from January 13. (ANI)
