Wellington [New Zealand], Nov. 15 (ANI): Shane Jurgensen has been appointed as the bowling coach of New Zealand in a full time capacity which will take him through until the ICC 2019 Cricket World Cup in England.

Wellington [New Zealand], Nov. 15 (ANI): Shane Jurgensen has been appointed as the bowling coach of New Zealand in a full time capacity which will take him through until the ICC 2019 Cricket World Cup in England. The New Zealand Cricket confirmed this news in a media release. The former Bangladesh coach will have his second stint in the role, having been the Kiwi's bowling coach from 2008-10. "Shane's been impressive with the structure he's brought to the bowling unit and we're pleased to be able to lock him into a long-term contract," New Zealand head coach Mike Hesson said. "His knowledge of all conditions and his overall experience has been evident during his time with us. He works extremely hard with our bowlers and has a strong rapport with all of the players in our squad.Shane has a number of New Zealand connections and brings a lot of passion to the role," he added. The former Bangladesh coach was thrilled to be continuing his tenure with the group saying, "It's been a pleasure to be a part of this team and I'm delighted to get the chance to continue to do so." "New Zealand has a hugely talented group of bowlers who aren't afraid to put the hard work in. They want to be the best in the world and it'll be my mission to help them achieve that goal. It's a close group and one that I feel privileged to be able to contribute too," he added. The Black Caps are scheduled to play two-match Test series against Pakistan, starting in Christchurch from Thursday. (ANI)
