Rusty Anderson insists he can still deliver despite waning pace
London, Aug 2 (ANI): England pace spearhead James Anderson believes that he can still perform at the highest level for a few more years despite his waning pace and sporadic injuries. The 34-year-old, who missed the opening Test against Pakistan at Lord's after failing to recover fully from a shoulder strain, admitted that he was significantly down on pace, bowling at an average of 81mph, when he returned to the Test fold in the second match at Old Trafford. However, Anderson insisted that his vast experience and skills can compensate for his declining pace and will help him stay one step ahead, the Daily Express reported. Anderson also endured an injury-hit season last year, sustaining injuries during Ashes series as well as in series against South Africa. The right-arm paceman believes that he will be able to shrug off his rustiness at Edgbaston and that he will be able to 'hit my straps' to help his side take a 2-1 lead in the four-match series. England levelled the series 1-1 when the hosts defeated Pakistan by 330 runs in the second Test in Manchester last month.(ANI)
