Proteas not to make many changes for Adelaide Test
Johannesburg [South Africa], Nov. 17 (ANI): Linda Zondi, South Africa convener of selectors, has asserted that there won't be many changes in the Proteas playing XI for third and the final Test against Australia at the Adelaide Oval starting from November 24. The Faf du Plessis-led side took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series and would be looking for a rare whitewash against Australia, which is under the scanner, in South Africa's first pink-ball Test. It is speculated that the Proteas might make some changes and give chance to those sitting in the dressing room, following their resounding victories in Perth and Hobart. However, Zondi has insisted that they would not be making too many changes in the line-up. "That's one thing from a selection panel that we try to maintain - to make sure we don't fiddle around with the squad too much," Zondi was quoted as saying by Sport24. "It's important that we maintain the stability of the squad and the structure of the starting XI. When we come up with a decision in the starting XI‚ we give guys and opportunity and we back guys," added Zondi. The only worry that is there for the Proteas is the form of opener Stephen Cook, who has only scored 35 runs this series and Hashim Amla, with only 48 runs to his name in the series. "The more guys understand their roles‚ the better for the team and the better for us moving forward," said Zondi. (ANI)
