Pakistan reworking plans to counter threat of Cook and Root: Arthur
Karachi, Aug.2 (ANI): After suffering a massive 330-run defeat at the hands of England in the second Test, Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur has said his side have been reworking on their plans to counter the threat from English skipper Alastair Cook and star batsman Joe Root. Root smashed 254 and an unbeaten 71 while Cook scored 105 and 76 not out as England crushed Pakistan at Old Trafford to level the four-match Test series 1-1. Describing Cook and Root as the backbone of England's batting, the former South African cricketer called on his side to restrict the duo in the upcoming Tests in order to win the series, the Dawn reported. While Root and Cook have been in scintillating form with the bat, other England players namely Alex Hales, James Vince and Gary Balance have failed to contribute significantly for the hosts. Pakistan will aim to bounce back when they take on England in the third Test, beginning from Wednesday in Edgbaston. (ANI)
