Pak's Imran Khan makes world record, finally scores a run in Test cricket
Karachi [Pakistan], Nov. 27 (ANI): Pakistan pacer Imran Khan, who isn't related to the legendary former captain of the same name, on Sunday, claimed a world record for the longest wait for a run in Test cricket. The pacer finally got on the board with the bat on Day Three of the ongoing second Test against New Zealand in Hamilton. It was Khan's first runs in Test cricket, despite making his debut against Australia in October 2014. The 29-year-old pacer doubled the preexisting world record when he finally got on the board with the bat, reported the Express Tribune. This match was Khan's eighth Test match, which is four more than the previous record for the longest wait to score a run in the longest format of the game. That record was shared among 12 players. The 29-year-old got off the mark with a thick edge through gully for two. He sported a sheepish grin and even raised his bat once he was sure he'd finally got on the scoreboard. Khan went on to score six runs before being the last wicket to fall in Pakistan's innings as they were bowled out for 216, trailing the Black Caps by 55 runs. The Kiwis faced just one ball in their second innings before rain intervened, bringing an early close of play. Only 38.1 overs of play was possible in the entire day. (ANI)
