Pak T20 skipper Sarfraz determined to end dismal England tour on high
Karachi [Pakistan], Sept.7 (ANI): Asserting that he has drawn inspiration from Pakistan Test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq, Sarfraz Ahmed has admitted that he is fully geared up to put his stamp on captaincy when he leads the Twenty20 side in a lone match against England at Old Trafford today. Sarfraz, who admitted that his side had gained a lot of confidence after bouncing back from a 4-0 down in Test series, expressed his desire to end the tour on a high note. The match will be the wicket-keeper-batsman's first in charge since being named as Shahid Afridi's replacement in April following the World T20 debacle in India. Expressing his excitement ahead of the match, Sarfraz said that representing the country was a big achievement and, therefore, he was looking forward to bring his own adventurous approach whilst leading the side. The 29-year-old has been one of the side's notable performers in recently-concluded Test and ODI series against England, the Dawn reported Sarfraz also played a pivotal role in Pakistan's four-wicket win against Eoin Morgan's side in the final ODI in Cardiff. The `Man of the match` struck a 90-run knock, including 10 boundaries and one six, besides sharing a huge 163-run partnership with Shoaib Malik (77) to deny England with a series whitewash. Pointing out that Pakistan were trying to create new teams with youngsters, Sarfraz called on his side to take the confidence of their recent Cardiff win into the upcoming T20 match. (ANI)
