Pak pacer Irfan flies back home following mother's demise
Brisbane [Australia], Jan.9 (ANI): The world's tallest bowler, Mohammad Irfan, of Pakistan, is all set to head back home from Australia following the death of his mother, a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesperson has confirmed. The 34-year-old was recalled in the ODI squad for the upcoming five-match series against Australia after being ignored for the series against West Indies and New Zealand. Irfan has not appeared for his country since September last year, when his body broke down and he failed to complete his quota of 10 overs in an ODI match against England in Headingley. However, Irfan worked on his fitness thereafter, having bowled more than 150 overs in the Quaid-e-Azam trophy besides guiding his side Water and Power Development Authority to the title. He notched up a total of 21 wickets in six games he played in the tournament which eventually earned him a recall. Pakistan have not named Irfan's replacement so far, but they have four fast bowlers remaining in the squad in Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz, Rahat Ali and Hasan Ali.(ANI)
