No ego problem in Indian team, Kohli can learn a lot from Dhoni: Syed Kirmani
Bengaluru (Karnataka)[India], Jan. 6(ANI): Former Indian wicketkeeper Syed Kirmani on Friday said the change of guard in the Indian cricket team, as Virat Kohli takes over the captaincy in limited overs format after Mahendra Singh Dhoni stepped down as skipper, reflects no ego problem in the team and added the newly appointed captain can learn a lot from 'captain cool's' experience in handling pressure situations. "There is no ego problems in the team . This will only be a big boon for Virat Kohli, as he can learn a lot from Dhoni's captaincy and decisions which he has taken in the crisis," he said. Kirmani said that this change in captaincy gives MSD a chance to come up the order and express himself freely as he is a game changer. "Many times we felt that Dhoni must go up the order and that is why he should be promoted right on top in number four or five position because he is a game changer," Kirmani told ANI. Two days after Mahendra Singh Dhoni stepped down as the skipper of the India ODI and T20I teams, the Delhi lad showered praises on the wicketkeeper-batsman and said that he would always remain his captain. Taking to Twitter to express his gratitude, Kohli thanked Dhoni for being the kind of a leader which every young player dreams of. "Thanks for always being the leader a youngster wants to have around him. You'll always be my captain @msdhoni Bhai," the Test skipper, who is widely expected to be named as Dhoni's replacement, wrote on Twitter. In a shocking move crushing his fans across the globe, Dhoni informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday that he wishes to resign as the captain of the Indian Cricket Team with immediate effect.
