Neck injury forces Lynn out of Lanka T20 series
Melbourne [Australia], Feb.9 (ANI): Australian batsman Chris Lynn has been ruled out of the upcoming Twenty20 international series against Sri Lanka after aggravating his injured neck. Reflecting on Lynn's injury, team physiotherapist Kevin Sims said that the Big Bash League star returned to the training recently as a part of his rehabilitation and that he would now be seeing a specialist later this week in order to have a better understanding of his return. "Chris resumed some light training as part of his rehabilitation but was still unable to function at the level he needs to play international cricket due to his existing neck injury," ESPNcricinfo quoted Sims as saying. "He will be seeing a specialist later this week and from there we will have a better understanding of the ongoing management, along with the return to play time frames," he added. Lynn will be replaced by left-hand batsman Ben Dunk, who finished as the highest-run scorer in the recently-concluded BBL. Confirming Dunk's inclusion in the squad, interim national selector Trevor Hohns said that the former has been named on the back of his consistent performances in the various T20 leagues around the world. Australia are slated to play three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka beginning February 17 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). (ANI)
