Misbah-ul-Haq dethrones Imran Khan to become Pakistan's most-capped Test skipper
Karachi [Pakistan], Oct. 30 (ANI): Misbah-ul-Haq on Sunday became Pakistan's most-capped captain, thereby breaking legendary cricketer Imran Khan's record of leading the side in 48 Tests. Under the captaincy of Misbah, Pakistan has won 24 matches, lost 13 and drawn 11 matches having a win percentage of 47.82. The 42-year-old right-handed batsman was appointed captain in 2010, reports the Dawn. Pakistan were ranked number six in Tests when Misbah was made the skipper in 2010. Earlier, Imran Khan held the title of most-capped captain of the country. Khan led the Pakistani team in 48 matches from 1982 to 1992. Under his captaincy tenure of more of almost a decade, Pakistan won 14 Test matches, lost eight and drew 26. If all the teams are taken into consideration, former South African skipper Graeme Smith holds the record for the most-capped captain, having led his team 109 times from 2003 to 2014, followed by Australia's Ricky Ponting and Steve Waugh.
