Misbah geared up to play at `home of cricket
Karachi, July 14 (ANI):Pakistan Test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq will look forward to perform at his absolute best when he heads into his first ever Test tour to England beginning today at Lord's. The four-match Test series will also see the return of Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir after completing his five-year suspension for spot-fixing in September last year. The 24-year-old, who served a prison sentence in the United Kingdom and a five-year suspension for his role in the 2010 spot-fixing case, will aim to erase his sordid past when he will resume his Test career at Lord's-- the scene of the fixing scandal. Although Amir might be the centre of attention, the match will also witness the Pakistan skipper making his first Test appearance in England at the advanced age of 42. Misbah, who was hit by selection rows and fall-outs with previous selection committees, revealed that he had decided not take retirement after the successful England series in UAE because he wants to play a Test match at "the home of cricket." Describing the England tour as `tough`, Misbah said that it would be a big occasion for him as it is everyone's dream to perform well and get the respect of the spectators at Lord's, the Express Tribune reported. Misbah has notched up nearly 4,500 runs at an impressive average of nearly 49 in 61 matches he played for Pakistan. (ANI)
