Misbah calls on Pak to knock down England `pillars` Cook, Root
Karachi, Aug.2 (ANI): Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq has called on his side to knock down England 'pillars' namely captain Alastair Cook and star batsman Joe Root if they want to be on the winnings side in the upcoming Tests. Misbah's comments came hours after Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur had hinted that his side were reworking on their plans to counter the threat from Cook and Root. Root smashed 254 and an unbeaten 71 while Cook scored 105 and 76 not out as England crushed Pakistan by the huge margin of 330 runs at Old Trafford to level the four-match Test series 1-1. Admitting that the duo are in really good form at the moment, Misbah said that his side could put a lot of pressure on their oppositions by dismissing these two main players, the Dawn reported. While other England players like Alex Hales, James Vince and Gary Balance have failed to contribute significantly for the hosts, Misbah believes restricting Root and Cook could affect England's performance significantly. Pakistan will look to bounce back when they take on England in the third Test of the four-match series, beginning from Wednesday in Edgbaston.(ANI)
