Miandad wants PCB to involve ex-cricketers in administrative affairs

Karachi [Pakistan], Sep.1 (ANI): Legendary Pakistan batsman Javed Miandad has called on his country's cricket board to start involving former players in its administrative affairs if they want to bring back the winning tradition to the team. Miandad comments' came in the wake of Pakistan's humiliating ODI series loss against England, who took an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series after defeating the Azhar Ali's side by 169 runs in the third match. The 59-year-old believes Pakistan would keep putting up disastrous displays on the field unless the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) hire former cricketers to solve the team's underlying issues, the Dawn reported. In a bid to bring Pakistan back on track, the former skipper also asked the PCB to review complete setup of the national team, including the captaincy. Miandad questioned Azhar's credibility as ODI skipper, saying that the board had failed to find the ideal replacement of former captain Misbah-ul-Haq, who is still leading the Test side. Pakistan will now play the final two inconsequential ODIs against England in Leeds and Cardiff respectively.
