Match-winner Dale Steyn believes he's yet to regain full rhythm
Johannesburg [South Africa], Aug 31 (ANI): South Africa pace spearhead Dale Steyn believes that he is yet to regain his full rhythm despite setting up a series-clinching 204-run win for his side on the fourth day of the second and final Test against New Zealand in Centurion. The 33-year-old, who played his first Test in eight months after a lengthy injury lay-off, grabbed a five-wicket haul to add to his first innings tally of 3 for 66 as New Zealand were bundled out for 195 despite a defiant innings of 76 by Henry Nicholls. Reflecting on his performance, Steyn admitted that he received a lot of assistance from the wicket while bowling a disciplined line but expressed that he wants to slightly increase his pace, Sport24 reported. Steyn wreaked havoc on New Zealand batsmen with his masterful display of swing bowling, taking three wickets off the first 11 balls he bowled at the start of the tourists' second innings. Having taken a total of 416 wickets in 84 Tests, Steyn got past Pakistan's Wasim Akram into 11th place on the world all-time list. He now needs five more scalps to replace ninth-placed Shaun Pollock as South Africa's leading wicket-taker. (ANI)
