Marsh ready to tailor his role on Lanka tour
Melbourne, July 18 (ANI):Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has said he is fully geared up to tailor his role as per the team's outlook in the upcoming three-match Test series against Sri Lanka, starting at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium from July 26. Ahead of his side's three-day tour match against Sri Lanka XI, the 24-year-old said his role in series would differ depending upon the bowling combination of the team. "I think depending on the outlook of the team and whether they bowl two spinners or three quicks and me, my role will differ. But for me it's about just playing the conditions, I will be attacking the stumps as much as I can, with fields that allow me to bowl like that," Marsh was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo. While highlighting the importance of both spin and reverse swing in Sri Lankan conditions, Marsh said that he would try to perform his best against the Angelo Mathews-led side. "I think if we've got two spinners I'll probably bowl a bit more with the newer ball being the third seamer. It's always nice in these conditions to bowl when the ball's a little bit harder and potentially swinging a little bit, but I don't really mind, I'll just bowl wherever the skipper needs me to bowl. Whatever the selectors go with, I'll just prepare as best I can." Besides Test series, Australia will also play five-match ODI series and two T20 internationals.(ANI)
