Manish Pandey fined for showing dissent after dismissal
Melbourne,Aug.24 (ANI):India A skipper Manish Pandey has been fined 25 percent of his match fee for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during his side's 86-run win over the National Performance Squad in Townhill. The 26-year-old was found to have breached Article 2.1.5, which relates to showing dissent at an umpire's decision during an international match. The incident took place when Pandey was given out Leg Before Wicket (LBW) for 31 during the visitors' innings, when he played back to a delivery from NPS leg-spinner Mitchell Swepson. After getting dismissed, Pandey gestured with his right hand towards Umpire Shawn Craig and remained at the crease for more than 10 seconds before starting his walk off the ground, cricket.com.au reported. Pandey had admitted the Level 1 offence, but he challenged the proposed sanction of a fine equal to 30 percent of his match fee. However, Pandey later accepted the sanction after getting it reduced to 25 percent by Match Referee Peter Marshall. (ANI)
