Kohli clarifies his `no-longer-friends with Aussies` remark
New Delhi [India], Mar.30 (ANI): Indian skipper Virat Kohli has clarified his comments about his cooling off relationship with Australian players at the end of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, saying that his statement has been blown out of proportion. After registering an eight-wicket win over Australia in Dharamsala Test and reclaiming the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Kohli had declared that the friendship with the Australian players is irretrievably broken, and that the relationship and trust he thought he had with the Australian players has been tarnished. "No, it has changed. I thought that was the case, but it has changed for sure. As I said, in the heat of the battle you want to be competitive but I've been proven wrong. The thing I said before the first Test, that has certainly changed and you won't hear me say that ever again," Kohli had said in a post-match media conference. However, the swashbuckling Indian batsman now insisted his comments were misinterpreted and that he still shares good terms with a few Australian players he knows and those he has played with at Royal Challengers Bangalore. "My answer at the post match conference has been blown way out of proportion. I did not categorically say the whole Australian team but only a couple of individuals. I continue to be on good terms with the few guys I know & who I've played with at RCB & that doesn't change," Kohli said in a series of tweets. Earlier, Kohli also invited a flurry of criticism for his post-match comments, with the Australian media describing the Indian skipper as `classless`, `childish`and `egomaniac`.(ANI)
