Jayant Yadav makes debut as India opt to bat in Vizag
Visakhapatnam [India], Oct.29 (ANI): India have won the toss and opted to bat first in the series-decider fifth Test against New Zealand here at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium here on Saturday. After winning the toss, India's limited-overs skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni said, "A bit of swing because of the humidity. It's a decider, makes it more interesting and it will give plenty of experience to the youngsters. As a batting unit, we have not played up to potential." His New Zealand counterpart Kane Williamson, on the other hand, said the surface looked good before adding that they need to make a strong start by bowling well. "We expect some dew. Improving is the main thing and we have done that in the ODIs after the Tests. Hopefully we can restrict India to a small total. Tough to read surfaces here, especially with the dew," he said. In the high-octane match, India will aim to showcase that they are still a dominant force in the 50-over cricket, whereas the visitors will seek to script history by clinching their first ODI series in India. As far as Playing XI is concerned, India will hand ODI debut to Jayant Yadav while fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has also been recalled in after recovering fully from an injury. The Black Caps have brought in Corey Anderson in place of Anton Devcich. The five-match series is currently levelled at 2-2 following India's 19-run defeat against the Kiwis in the third match in Ranchi. India Playing XI: Rohit Sharma , Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain), Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, Axar Patel, Amit Mishra, Umesh Yadav, Jayant Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah. New Zealand Playing XI: Tom Latham, Martin Guptill, Kane Williamson, Ross Taylor, James Neesham, Luke Ronchi, BJ Watling, Corey Anderson, Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee, Ish Sodhi, Trent Boult. (ANI)
