`Injured` Anderson set to miss Bangladesh Test series
London [England], Sept.29 (ANI):England pace bowler James Anderson is all set to miss next month's Test series against Bangladesh after failing to recover fully from a shoulder injury. The injury also casts doubt over his participation for start of the Test series against India that follows in November. According to the Guardian, scans this week have shown that Anderson requires an extended break in order to complete the healing process. The 34-year-old, who has not played since the fourth Test against Pakistan in August, had recently said he needs to manage himself carefully if he wants to survive a gruelling tour that would feature seven Tests in the span of two months. "It's a tough one because as a player, if you're fit, you want to play, simple as that. No matter what the format, you're desperate to play.At 34, I probably have to manage myself, or be managed, quite well. You want, if possible, to play every Test but India is going to be five back-to-back and that's a huge ask for any bowler," Anderson said. Seamer Jake Ball has been lined up to replace Anderson in the Test squad after being asked to stay on as cover after the three-match ODI series of the tour. England are slated to play two-match Test series against Bangladesh, starting from October 20 in Chittagong.(ANI)
