India's added aggression in Bengaluru left us surprised, admits Wade

Melbourne [Australia], Mar. 12 (ANI): Australian wicketkeeper Matthew Wade has admitted that there was a drastic change in India's 'aggressive' approach between the first and second Test of the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy which the hosts went to win by 75-runs. After facing a humiliating 333-run defeat in the Pune Test, Virat Kohli and his men bounced back superbly and registered an emphatic win to level the four-match series at the Chinnaswamy. "They're always aggressive," said Wade in an interview to cricket.com.au. "The change from the first Test to the second Test was probably the initial shock. They certainly came out a little harder on Day Three (at Bengaluru), but we expect them to come hard. When you've got a caged lion you expect them to come out pretty hard, to get away." The wicketkeeper also made a comparison of the Indian teams under Kohli and his predecessor Mahendra Singh Dhoni and said, "Indian teams are always quite aggressive. "Dhoni was a different captain to Kohli, but that's just personality." Australia would be competing against the World No. 1 Test side in Ranchi without the services of their pace spearhead Mitchell Starc, who has been ruled out of the remaining Tests with stress fracture. Pat Cummins has been included in the squad as his replacement and it would be a herculean task for Steve Smith and Co. to stop the hosts from getting lead in the series in the third game beginning March 16.
