Hamilton Test: Williamson's ton puts Kiwis in command against Proteas
Hamilton [New Zealand], Mar.27 (ANI): Skipper Kane Williamson struck a scorching unbeaten century as New Zealand reached 321-4 at stumps in their first innings on the Day Three of the third and the final Test against South Africa at Seddon Park here on Monday. Resuming at yesterday's score of 67-0, Williamson smashed 14 boundaries and three sixes in his unbeaten 148-run knock besides stitching a 190-run stand with Jeet Raval (88) to propel New Zealand ahead of the Proteas. It was also Williamson's 17th Test hundred, thus equaling Martin Crowe's New Zealand record. The skipper has taken ten innings less than Crowe, who smashed his 17th century in his 120th innings. Meanwhile, opener Tom Latham also struck half-century, including two boundaries. For South Africa, Morne Morkel and Kagiso Rabada bagged two wickets each. The home side, who have now taken a seven-run first-innings lead, will now aim to increase their lead when Williamson and Mitchell Santner (13*) resume the innings tomorrow.(ANI)
