`Fit-again` Mustafizur Rahman recalled for Lanka Tests
Dhaka [Bangladesh], Feb.21 (ANI): Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman has been recalled in the 16-member Test squad for the two-match series against Sri Lanka beginning March 7 at the Galle International Cricket Stadium. Mustafizur picked for the recently-concluded New Zealand tour, but he played in only four limited-overs matches and was left out for the subsequent two-match Test series due to a hamstring injury. He was also left out from the squad for the one-off Test match against India earlier this month, as the team management felt that the fast bowler was not completely fit for a return to five-day cricket, ESPNcricinfo reported. The 21-year-old has struggled on the international stage since returning from a shoulder injury he sustained in July last year, while bowling for Sussex in the English T20 tournament. However, he performed well in domestic four-day games for South Zone in the Bangladesh Cricket League ( BCL), bagging four wickets in two games he had played. Meanwhile, opener Imrul Kayes will miss the upcoming series against Lanka after hurting his thigh in the tour match against India A, a recurrence of the injury that had kept him out of the Christchurch Test last month. Mosaddek Hossain, who travelled to India as cover for Imrul, has been roped in for the Lanka Tests. The Bangladesh Test squad is as follows: Mushfiqur Rahim (c), Tamim Iqbal, Liton Das, Soumya Sarkar, Mominul Haque, Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah, Sabbir Rahman, Mustafizur Rahman, Taijul Islam, Mehedi Hasan, Taskin Ahmed, Mosaddek Hossain, Kamrul Islam Rabbi, Subashis Roy, Rubel Hossain.(ANI)
