Fit-again Azhar Ali to captain Pakistan in Sydney
Karachi [Pakistan], Jan. 22 (ANI): Azhar Ali, Pakistan ODI skipper, has been declared fit to play in the fourth game of the ongoing five-match series against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) today. The 31-year-old, who scripted history by becoming first Pakistan batsman to score double century in Australia in the Boxing Day Test, sustained the injury when he was on 12 during the opening ODI at the Gabba before returning later in the innings. All-rounder Mohammad Hafeez was the stand-in skipper for the side in Azhar's absence. According to Pakistan Cricket Board, Ali undertook fitness test on Saturday and passed with flying colours to resume the role of captaincy from the fourth ODI onwards, reports the Express Tribune. "After passing a fitness test today, Azhar Ali was declared fit and will captain the team for the fourth ODI at SCG," said PCB in a tweet. Pakistan currently trail 1-2 in the series and must win Sunday's fourth ODI in Sydney to keep the series alive. (ANI)
