London [UK], Apr. 13 (ANI): Former England pacer Isa Guha has become the first woman to join the board of the Professional Cricketers' Association (PCA). The PCA is the representative body for first-class cricketers in England and Wales.

London [UK], Apr. 13 (ANI): Former England pacer Isa Guha has become the first woman to join the board of the Professional Cricketers' Association (PCA). The PCA is the representative body for first-class cricketers in England and Wales. The 31-year-old, who retired from international cricket in 2012, played crucial part in England's victories in both the World Cup and the World T20 in 2009. Delighted with her appointment, Guha said she was looking forward to work with the team at the PCA which has many former and present cricketers. "I am delighted to be joining the PCA at an exciting time for the game here in England for our men and women at both domestic and international levels," ESPNcricinfo quoted Guha as saying. "I look forward to working with the team at the PCA, and with all the many past and present players, as the country prepares for a number of major events, starting with the ICC Champions Trophy and the Women's World Cup this summer," she added. Meanwhile, PCA chief executive David Leatherdale, said that the former England pacer would bring real insight to the board with her vast knowledge of the game. "Isa has a vast knowledge of the game from a men's and women's perspective," Leatherdale said. "With our international women players now full members of the PCA, Isa will bring real insight to the PCA board," he added. Guha was the first woman of Asian origin to represent England when she made her debut in 2002 and played 113 international matches across all formats, taking 138 wickets. (ANI)
