Dominica Test: Azhar, Azam notch fifties as Pak reach 169-2 on Day 1
Roseau [Dominica], May 11 (ANI): Opener Azhar Ali and Babar Azam produced a calm and composed performance as the duo struck blistering half-centuries to guide Pakistan to 169-2 at stumps on the opening day of the third and final Test against West Indies here at the Windsor Park on Thursday. After being asked to bat first, Azhar smashed seven boundaries and two sixes in his unbeaten 85-run knock besides sharing a massive 120-run stand with Babar (55). Younus Khan, who was playing his 118th and final Test, remained not out at 10 at the end of the day's play. The veteran batsman received a guard of honour from the Caribbean players as he walked to the crease and proceeded to make a slow start, facing 44 balls and still waiting for his first boundary. Meanwhile, Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq is also playing his final Test. For West Indies, paceman Alzarri Joseph and off-spinner Roston Chase bagged a wicket each, while fast bowler Shannon Gabriel was economical as he conceded just 32 runs in his quota of 19 overs. The three-match Test series is currently levelled at 1-1 after West Indies won the second match by 106 runs in Barbados. (ANI)
