Dhoni turns 36, birthday wishes pour in for 'Mr. Helicopter'
New Delhi [India], July 7 (ANI): Former India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, also known as 'Captain Cool' turned 36 today and on the occasion of his birthday, warm wishes poured in on Twitter. Dhoni was handed the perfect birthday gift as the Men in Blue crushed West Indies by eight wickets in the fifth and final ODI to win the series 3-1. The wicketkeeper-batsman is India's most successful Test, ODI and T20I captain. He retired from the longest format of the game in December 2014, but continued to lead the national side in limited-overs before announcing that he would give up the leadership of the ODI and T20I sides on January 4 this year. Dhoni is also the only captain to win all three major ICC tournaments - the 50-over World Cup, the Champions Trophy and the World T20. He also led India to the top of the ICC Test rankings in December 2009. Yuvraj Singh and Virendra Sehwag, however, wished Dhoni in a rather interesting manner. "Many happy returns of the day to Mr. Helicopter @msdhoni have a great day buddy, the cake awaits you#happybirthday #cakesmash," tweeted Yuvraj. "To a man who has given Indian fans innumerable moments of joy,#HappyBirthdayMSD May the helicopter continue to fly and land in our hearts," tweeted Sehwag. "Happy Birthday to a legend of the game @msdhoni .Thank you for all that you have done and wish you the best in life. #HappyBirthdayMSD," said Mohammad Kaif. "#HappyBirthdayMSD - From his long hair days to a demigod status. Relive it all on the occasion of his 36th Birthday," tweeted BCCI. "Happy Birthday @msdhoni! Relive his winning six which helped India lift the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup!" tweeted ICC. "Happy birthday @msdhoniHave a gr8 day and a fabulous year mahi," said VVS Laxman. . (ANI)
