Champions Trophy: Finn replaces injured Woakes
London [U.K], June 4 (ANI): Fast bowler Steven Finn has been named as a replacement for injured Chris Woakes in the England squad for the rest of the ongoing Champions Trophy. Woakes was ruled out of the tournament after sustaining the injury during his side's eight-wicket win over Bangladesh at the Oval on Thursday. He bowled just two overs before being forced to leave the field. Finn, who was also a part of the England squad who made it to the final of the Champions Trophy four years ago, has earned the call-up ahead of Toby Roland-Jones who made his debut recently against the Proteas. Finn, who was the most significant omission from the original 15-man squad, was recalled for the final ODI of the three-match series against South Africa at Lord's last week. The 28-year-old also appeared in two matches for England Lions against South Africa A, taking five wickets, ESPNcricinfo reported. England will now lock horns with New Zealand in Cardiff on Tuesday before taking on two-time winners Australia in their final group fixture at Edgbaston four days later. (ANI)
