BCCI to convene SGM in Mumbai on August 5
New Delhi, July 26 (ANI): The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Tuesday decided to convene a Special General Meeting (SGM) of its affiliated units in Mumbai on August 5 to discuss about the implementation of the Lodha Committee recommendations as per the Supreme Court directives. The apex court had asked the cricket body to strictly adhere to the Lodha Committee recommendations. The court has given the BCCI six months to implement the recommendations and appointed RM Lodha, the former chief justice of India who was the architect of the report, to oversee the transition. The idea of calling an SGM is to take stock of the current situation and also the viewpoint of the members regarding practical difficulties of implementation of Lodha Committee recommendations, before it is placed before the committee. It is expected that a team of lawyers of the BCCI will also be present during the meeting. (ANI)
