Barbados Test: Yasir's six-fer leads Pakistan fight back on Day 4

Barbados [West Indies], May 4 (ANI): Yasir Shah scalped a six-wicket haul as Pakistan staged a brilliant fight back to reduce West Indies to 264-9 in their second innings, despite a blistering knock from Shai Hope on the Day Four of the second Test, here at Kensington Oval on Thursday. Resuming at yesterday's score of 41-1, Shai Hope (90) and Vishaul Singh (32) fended Pakistan off with some resilience characteristically found only in Test matches. However, the visitors roared back into the game when Yasir started picking away wickets at the West Indies lower middle order. He took his 10th Test five-fer to finish with the figures of 6-90, including of openers Kraigg Brathwaite (46) and Keiran Powell (six). Besides Yasir, Mohammad Abbas and Mohammad Amir also bagged two and a wicket respectively to reopen the prospect of a first-ever Test match victory at the venue for Pakistan, going into the final day. At stumps, the Caribbean side were still leading by 183 runs, with Devendra Bishoo (16) and Shannon Gabriel (0) batting at the crease. Earlier, Pakistan scored 393 in reply to the hosts' first-innings total of 312. Retiring skipper Misbah-ul-Haq, who had the dubious honour of becoming the first player from his country to finish on 99, was left stranded just a run short of an 11th Test century as he failed to control a rising delivery from West Indies captain Jason Holder with the ball hitting his glove and popping up for an easy catch at second slip. Starting the day at 172 for three, both Azhar and Misbah played cautiously on a deteriorating pitch and made sure Pakistan gain the 81-run lead before getting bundled for 393.(ANI)
