Bairstow replaces `injured` Hales in T20 squad against India
New Delhi [India], Jan.21 (ANI): Wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow has been called into the England squad as a replacement for injured Alex Hales for the three-match Twenty20 series against Indian beginning January 26 at Green Park, Kanpur. Opener Hales was earlier ruled of the remainder of India tour after scans revealed that he had suffered from a hand fracture during his side's 15-run defeat in the second ODI of the three-match series in Cuttack on Thursday. Hales sustained the injury while attempting a catch off former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the outfield and jarred his hand on the ground. He would now see a hand surgeon upon returning home. England, who lost the ongoing three-match ODI series 0-2 following their Cuttack defeat , will now play an inconsequential third match in Kolkata tomorrow before heading into the T20 series. (ANI)
