Amit Mishra hails Kohli for creating positive environment in team
Basseterre (St. Kitts), July 11 (ANI): Ahead of India's four-match Test series against West Indies, leg-spinner Amit Mishra has heaped praise on Virat Kohli by saying that the skipper has created a positive environment in the team. Mishra's comments came after he bagged a four-wicket haul during his side's two-day drawn warm-up match against West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) President's XI here at Warner Park. Describing Kohli as a `positive` player, Mishra revealed that the skipper allows him to express his opinion freely. "Virat Kohli is a positive person and he has created a similar positive environment within the team. He always supports me. There are no boundaries. Whenever I want to share something with him, I am free to express my opinion. He tells me, "You're a wicket taking bowler and that is what you must do. You stay positive and stick to your strengths. Do not think about anything else,"Mishra was quoted as saying by bcci.tv. Opting to bat first, India declared their innings at 258/6 in 93 overs, thanks to KL Rahul (50), Shikhar Dhawan (51) and Rohit Sharma (54) for their significant contributions. In reply, Shai Hope smashed an unbeaten 118 and also shared a 122-run partnership with Rajendra Chandrika (69) as West Indies posted a score of 281-7 in 87 overs. India will play another warm-up game WICB President's XI before heading into the first Test against the Caribbean side at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua from July 21.(ANI)
