Florida [USA], Dec 28 (ANI): American tennis ace Serena Williams claims that she is "pretty fit" to take on the challenges of the 2019 season.
Despite suffering a 4-6, 6-3, 10-8 at the hands of her sister Venus Williams in an exhibition match at Abu Dhabi, the 37-year-old believes that she is in good shape.
"I feel like I'm pretty fit. I was running and running and never got tired except for one point but then I got over it in 20 seconds, so I think that was really the highlight for me," WTA quoted Williams, as saying.
The 23-times Grand Slam champion is just one major title away from matching Margaret Court's 24 Grand Slam titles record. Williams said that touching the milestone has always been significant to her and she clearly wants it to happen.
"It has always been significant since I got 22, then 23. It's something that I clearly want but I have to be able to get there and beat a lot of good players to get it," she said.
Williams' last Grand Slam title came in the form of 2017 Australian Open trophy when she was pregnant with her daughter Alexis Olympia. (ANI)
