New mom Serena extremely focused on tennis return: Wozniacki

Johannesburg [South Africa], Sept 26 (ANI): Former world number one and new mom Serena Williams is upbeat to make a strong comeback to the tennis court, according to her friend and Danish tennis player Caroline Wozniacki.

Last month, Serena had revealed that she has set herself the most `outrageous` goal of making a comeback at the Australian Open in January, something which will push her Grand Slam total to an all-time record-tying 24 titles.

Wozniacki revealed that the American tennis star remains absolutely focused on her return as she is constantly keeping an eye on the sport she has dominated for so many years.

"Serena, I think she can be focused on both (the baby and tennis)," Sport24 quoted the world number six as saying.

"I think she's going to do a strong comeback but I think at the same time she's enjoying being a mum as well and getting that whole experience. I think it's very special," she added.

Speaking at the Wuhan Open ahead of her first-round match in the Chinese city, Wozniacki informed that Serena has been sending her pictures of the baby girl, Alexis Olympia Ohanian.

"She's so cute and I'm looking forward to meeting her," Wozniacki said.

Serena' baby girl arrived on September 1 at St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida, weighing in at 6 lbs., 13 oz.(ANI)
