Ohio [U.S.A], August 13 (ANI): World number one Rafael Nadal on Monday withdrew from the ongoing edition of the Cincinnati Open.
The 32-year-old reasoned that maintaining the body fitness is his priority as he wants to keep it as healthy as possible.
The Spaniard made the announcement in a series of tweets after clinching his 80th career title on Sunday with victory at the Rogers Cup.
"I am very sorry to announce that I won't be playing in Cincinnati this year. No other reason than personally taking care of my body and trying to keep as healthy as I feel now," Nadal tweeted.
"I am very thankful to my friend Andre Silva, Tournament Director of the Cincinnati tournament who after speaking to him on the phone understood what I said and understand the situation. I am sure the tournament will be a success and I wish him and his team all the best," he added.

Meanwhile, three of the 'big four' names in the tennis world- Roger Federer, Andy Murray, and Novak Djokovic- are competing in the tournament which will conclude on August 19.
Andy Murray will take on Lucas Pouille of France in the opening round of the tournament on Monday. (ANI)
