London [UK], August 22 (ANI): Former world number one Novak Djokovic, who recently completed his Career Golden Masters with a victory in the Cincinnati Open finals, has said that though it was not easy to make a comeback after the injury, he is happy to get back to the winnings ways and ready to give his absolute best in the upcoming US Open.
The 31-year-old further stated that he has recovered well from the injury and is playing his best tennis at the moment.
"I've been through a difficult journey with an injury that kept me away from the Tour for the second part of last season. For sixth months I was away, I [did not] play the US Open. It was the first Grand Slam I had missed... I'm really glad I am back on track," ATP website quoted Djokovic, as saying.
"I recovered well and I am playing at my best at the moment. It is the best possible way to prepare for the US Open," he added.
Expressing his delight after completing the Career Golden Master, the Serbian player said that he is happy to see his hard work finally paying off.
"It feels great [to complete the Career Golden Masters]... It is amazing to be in New York and obviously for the first time, at my sixth attempt, to win Cincinnati. It's probably the biggest challenge you can have in tennis, to win all the Masters," he added.
Djokovic has thirteen Grand Slam titles to his name, including six Australian Open titles, four Wimbledon titles, two US Open titles and one French Open title. (ANI)
