New Delhi [India], Nov.30 (ANI): Hashim Mansoor, a six-year old boy from Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora district, has emerged as yet another young star from the region after winning a gold medal in the Asian Karate Championship held recently at Talkatora stadium in the national capital. Mansoor represented India in the Sub-Junior category in the championship, which featured participants from 19 other countries. Jubilant with his feat, the young star said that he had been working very hard from last one year. He further insisted that although it was a tough fight, he still managed to win it. "I am very happy to win this medal. I had been practising for this since last one year, It was difficult, but I still won the fight," a delighted Hashim said. Meanwhile, Mansoor's coach revealed that they had faced a lot of hurdles to reach so far, especially because of the unavailability of enough sources in the state. "It is a huge thing to win this Championship as there are not much resources for sports in Kashmir. Hashim faced a lot of hurdles to reach here," the coach said. Mansoor is likely to represent India in the Wold Karate Championship to be held in Europe in September 2017. Earlier, an eight-year-old girl from Bandipora, Tajamul Islam had clinched Gold at the World Kickboxing Championship. (ANI)
