Bologna [Italy], Oct.6 (ANI): Ace Indian shooter Jitu Rai took a big step towards erasing the memories of his disappointing 2016 Rio Olympics campaign by clinching a silver medal in the men's 50m pistol event at the ISSF World Cup in Bologna, Italy, on Thursday.

Bologna [Italy], Oct.6 (ANI): Ace Indian shooter Jitu Rai took a big step towards erasing the memories of his disappointing 2016 Rio Olympics campaign by clinching a silver medal in the men's 50m pistol event at the ISSF World Cup in Bologna, Italy, on Thursday. The 29-year-old marksman, who made an eighth-place finish in the men's 10m air pistol final at the Rio Olympics, shot a score of 188.8 to finish behind China's Wei Pang (190.6). Meanwhile, Giuseppe Giordano of Italy settled for the bronze medal with an overall score of 170.3 in the finals. Earlier, Jitu produced a stellar performance in the qualifying round to storm into the final by scoring 568 out of a possible 600. He had posted 97, 94, 94, 95, 93 and 96 in his six rounds to finish behind Ukraine's Oleh Omelchuk. Jitu had earlier won a silver medal in the 10m Air Pistol event at the ISSF World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan. (ANI)
