Ritu Phogat bags bronze at Asian Wrestling Championship

New Delhi [India], May 12 (ANI): Indian grappler Ritu Phogat on Friday won the bronze medal without breaking a sweat, against Sun Yanan of China, after the latter pulled out of the match owing to an injury in the 48kg women's wrestling category of the Asian Wrestling Championship being held here in the national capital.

New Delhi [India], May 12 (ANI): Indian grappler Ritu Phogat on Friday won the bronze medal without breaking a sweat, against Sun Yanan of China, after the latter pulled out of the match owing to an injury in the 48kg women's wrestling category of the Asian Wrestling Championship being held here in the national capital. Phogat earlier in the day lost to Yui Sasaki of Japan 9-0 in the semifinal to bow out of contention of the gold medal match. Sun, on the other hand, had beaten Irina Borissova of Kazakhstan in the repechage round by technical superiority of 10-0. Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik are also in contention for medals. Both of them will be contending for the gold medal in their respective matches in 55kg and 60kg category. (ANI)
