Rio de Janeiro [Brazil], Sept.16 (ANI):India's club thrower Amit Kumar Saroha missed out on a bronze medal by a whisker, as he finished fourth in men's club throw F51 event here at the ongoing Rio Paralympics on Friday. The 31-year-old, who finished last in the men's discus throw F52 event in prestigious quadrennial event, was initially leading the six-round contest with his best throw of 26.63m in the second attempt. Saroha, however, failed to capitalize on it and eventually lost his way later to fall out of medal bracket. Serbia's Zeljko Dimitrijevic won gold with his best throw of 29.96m in his fourth attempt while his fellow countryman Milos Mitic (26.84m) and Slovakia's Marian Kureja (26.82m) clinched silver and bronze respectively. Dharambir, the other Indian in fray, finished last in the finals with a best throw of 21.39m. India, who have sent their largest-ever contingent of 19 athletes for the Rio Paralympics, have so far won four medals, including 2 gold, one silver and one bronze. (ANI)
