Rio de Janeiro, Aug.8 (ANI): It was another disappointing day for Indian shooting contingent as trap shooters Manavjit Singh Sandhu and Kynan Chenai both failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the event on Day three of the Rio Olympics here at the Olympic Shooting Centre on Monday.

Rio de Janeiro, Aug.8 (ANI): It was another disappointing day for Indian shooting contingent as trap shooters Manavjit Singh Sandhu and Kynan Chenai both failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the event on Day three of the Rio Olympics here at the Olympic Shooting Centre on Monday. Sandhu, the two-time World Cup gold medallist, finished the men's trap event at the 16th place as he shot 25 and 22 in his last two rounds of the second leg, to end the qualifying event with a total score of 115. Earlier, in the first leg on Sunday, Manavjit missed his target thrice as he shot 23, 23 and 22 in his first three rounds to finish the day one of qualification with a total score of 68. Meanwhile, Chenai also failed to advance to the semi-finals after making a 19th-place finish. He shot 22, 23, 22, 24 and 23 in his five rounds to end with a score of 114. India, who have sent their largest-ever contingent of 119 athletes in Rio Olympics, are yet to open their medal account in the ongoing Summer Games. (ANI)
