Rio 2016: Zika 'not that big a threat' as it was shown, says Anirban Lahiri
By Vivek Prabhakar Singh Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Aug. 14 (ANI): Ace Indian golfer Anirban Lahiri believes that Zika virus is 'not that big a threat' as it was made to be at the ongoing Olympics being held in Rio de Janerio, Brazil. "Zika is not as bigger threat as it was made out to be, especially in some of the western countries. So, it's their loss.also may be to some extent a loss for Golf in Olympics. All of us were here. It's been fantastic and it will always be amazing to represent your country at an Olympics," Lahiri told ANI. His comments come in the wake of many athletes pulling out of the prestigious quadrennial event with the increasing fear of Zika virus. "As an athlete, you have to make a lot of decisions at different times in your career.also, different times in your personal life. I can't really comment on their decisions.they have must have facted everything in. But, I do feel bad for them in the sense that they have missed out on a great opportunity. Rio has been fantastic.the weather has been great.I think I have seen more wild lives than mosquitoes this week," Lahiri said. The prestigious tournament saw mass withdrawal of the world's top golfers, including world number three Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlroy, Jason Day, Dustin Johnson, Adam Scott, Louis Oosthuizen, Charl Schwartzel, Marc Leishman and Vijay Singh.
